First Impression is one of the most important aspects of selling your home!
EXTERIOR
• Repair siding, fences, walkways
• Paint/repair exterior & paint front door
• Check roof for leaks; clean gutters
• Repair any broken windows and check to see that they operate properly
• Garden/ Landscaping – Remove debris, mow the lawn, trim overgrown bushes
• Clean out the garage, check garage doors
• Check all Exterior Lighting and Replace Bulbs
KITCHEN & BATHROOMS
• Keep counters free of clutter
• Repair missing or broken tiles on floors and walls
• Re-grout the tiles
• Check for plumbing leaks
• Make sure all mirrors are clean, cabinets are neat
• All appliances should be clean and in working condition
IMPORTANT TIPS
• KEEP YOUR HOME CLUTTER FREE – Put away toys, throw away newspapers, put away all cleaning supplies, brooms and mops, make the beds
• Paint interior if necessary – check for pealing paint and repair the cause
• Vacuum carpets, keep floors & windows clean
• Give the hardwood floors a coat of polyurethane, professionally clean carpets
• If you have an alarm system or sprinkler system make sure that they are in good working order.
• Closets should be neat
• Keep shades and curtains open to bring in the sunshine
• Turn lights on before a showing
• Get a de-humidifier for the basement to keep it fresh smelling
• Place fresh flowers around the house
BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR HOME ON THE MARKET:
(1) Remove or legally abandon underground oil tank and have all paper work ready
(2) Check to see that you have a Certificate of Occupancy for any extensions or alterations made to the property.
(3) Check for Termite and Insect Infestation
